Hexagon wins its first Rheticus® Displacement contract, through a partnership with TecTerra29 December 2021
Together with TecTerra, a Geotechnology service provider, we won the first contract with Rheticus Displacement, Hexagon's subsidence monitoring solution whose technique uses radar satellites to identify millimeter terrain movements.
By doing this, Reticus Displacement (which stands for displacement) indicates places of concern and allows operators to act on the information. Thus, the service allows for an "a priori" approach, helping to highlight issues before they become critical. As a result, end users better manage their financial resources and reduce service interruptions and/or threats to people.
The purpose of implementing the solution at SABESP is to analyze the stability conditions, as well as land movements, in order to detect signs of leaks, structural inclinations, settlement trends, elastic movements, among other phenomena related to surface soil movements and/ or structures.
The solution will be used for the analysis of 25 pumping substations of SABESP, Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. To ensure the continuous operation of these critical infrastructures, subsidence analysis works in conjunction with other monitoring sensors, enabling the early analysis of potential structural damage that could lead to service interruption.
Surface and infrastructure monitoring is a fundamental activity to ensure the safety of people, environmental protection and the safeguarding of assets at all stages of the infrastructure life cycle, from design to production, management and maintenance. The use of traditional techniques (total stations, GNSS network, etc.) for periodic monitoring of large or remote areas requires considerable time and economic resources, in addition, it is unfeasible for large and medium areas. On the other hand, satellite monitoring makes it possible to overcome these limits, achieving actionable, high-frequency, accurate information thanks to the increasing availability of open data.
The project will last approximately one year, including a study of the last 28 months plus quarterly updates, starting from January 6th, 2022.
